Drag Chain Cable Installation Basics
July 2026
Key installation points that help flexible cables move freely and reliably inside an energy chain.
Allow cables to move freely
Cables should be installed without twist and with sufficient clearance inside the chain. They should not be tightly bundled or forced against one another.
Observe the bending radius
The chain radius must be compatible with the cable specification. A radius that is too small can increase mechanical stress and shorten service life.
Secure the cable correctly
Strain relief and fixing points should follow the equipment design and cable supplier guidance. The cable should be checked after the initial operating cycles.
Editorial note: Final product selection should be confirmed using the actual electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements of the application.
